Religion, a shirt & belief in drugs

So I was walking to the pet store yesterday because I needed to buy some food for my cats Nico & Nina and I was thinking of religions. Especially the religions here in Utah, because I was wearing a marijuana shirt which on the back said “A friend with weed is a friend indeed.” While walking there were some people who honked as they passed by me and I assumed that they were in favor of what they had read on my shirt as they drove down the road. Do I know for sure, no; but it seems like honking your horn could be assumed this way.

I was “born” and raised in Utah and while growing up, I learned that the people who came to Utah (that were not native American Indians) originally came here to escape from being treated in a way they did not like so that they could practice their beliefs in safety and solidarity.

The land was taken from the Native American Indians by these settlers, but they now have a place they can do as they wish and believe the way they want.

I could not help but see the irony of the situation, here in Utah, where people escaped to arrive here and practice living free with their own beliefs. It is now the place that does not allow all people to participate in this freedom equally, countless citizens are terrorized and suffer unending stresses financial, emotional and more, simply because they choose to drink, smoke or essentially take something in to their body that is supposedly against the law.

Yet science teaches the fundamental principles of a placebo and history has taught us the power of propaganda and how it influences and shapes human conscious. We know these things and both movies, “The Secret;” which talks about the law of attraction and the movie: “What the bleep do we know,” that talks about this information of our thoughts are responsible for creating our realities like it is common knowledge since the beginning of man.

Another interesting fact is that the American people voted to legalize Marijuana in the 1980’s. However the law was vetoed by president Reagan. In the Nuremburg Trials, it was recognized in the courts…

(that were created by America and our constitution is bound to support international law)

…that following a direct order from a superior officer is not an excuse to violate a person and that it IS a crime against humanity to criminalize or violate a group or population for something they do not feel is wrong.

So knowing this is true, how can we, as Americans, allow each other to continue the same cycle of behavior and treat one group of people one way and another group entirely different. How is this possible when life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are fundamental beliefs by most Americans.

We have come so far with technology, social behaviors towards different races are better than ever. I think mainly because communication between people has become easier and now reaches virtually everyone. All this progress to essentially act the same way to all people who choose to light up a “doobie” for example. take away their right to freedom, property or dignity?

What for do we do these things to our own neighbors in our own community’s? How is this progress? Knowing what we know about placebo effect and propaganda, why do we project something negative onto people that do not feel that what they are doing is wrong or bad?

Well I think someone should print a shirt that says on the front: I TELL MY RELIGION WHAT TO DO… and on the back it says: …NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND!!!

p.s. These negative behaviors mentioned above are not very popular among almost everyone. I think it is time to simply grow up people, it is not as big of deal we think and it is not a civil way to approach an issue in a society!

P.S.S. Utah has statistically more people under the influence of doctor precribed anti-depressants than any other state in the union.

AND nature gave us Marijuana for free!!!031507_1025
